TRASH PICKUP

 TRASH PICKUP IS NOW ON MONDAYS

 

Effective February 3, 2025 the new trash pickup for all of Union River Solid Waste, including Waltham, will begin. We are now going to be serviced by Casella Waste. Trash days are now going to be MONDAYS starting on February 3rd.

 

Initially there is no change in the way your trash will be picked up. It will be picked up roadside the same as usual. Please be careful to try and limit your bags to 40 lbs. or less. No tires are going to be accepted.

 

The route has changed in that they will start at the Amherst/Clifton line, servicing us from that end starting in Amherst, and picking up only on the right hand side of the highway. If your home is on their left side of the route they will get your trash after they turn and start back. They do not zig zag from side to side for safety purposes.

 

We know there will be a learning curve to this change, but are sure in a few short weeks we will all get used to the new routine. Please tell all your friends and neighbors about the change and help get the word out!!! Other changes are coming in the future,  but for now those changes will not affect your service. Any questions can be answered by calling your select board members.

ANNUAL BULKY WASTE WEEKEND DATES

The dates have been set for the annual bulky waste weekends. Folks are reminded this service is intended to be for the residents of Waltham, Osborn, Amherst, Great Pond and Aurora. The sites will be operated by Harris Downeast Disposal. Please be respectful of Mr. Harris and his crew. 

 

Aurora Location
June 7th and 8th
8am - 3pm
Route 9 at the Sand Building site. Just beyond the Richardson road on the right.

 

Waltham Location
June 21st and 22nd
8am - 3pm
42 Cave Hill Rd (the firehouse)
