Town of Waltham, Maine
Scholarship Opportunities
The Waltham-Eastbrook Youth Association is a community organization in Maine that provides funding and support for the youth of Waltham and Eastbrook. We want to help any youth from the town of Waltham and Eastbrook, regardless of family income, to participate in outside activities such as sports, 4-H, music camps, religious camps, sports camps, etc. or take advantage of secondary-education opportunities. This organization raises money to give various amounts for scholarships to youth individuals that qualify.
How It Works
-
You completely fill out an easy application and give it to Norma, Chris, or the Cave Hill principal three (3) weeks, if possible, before the money is due for the activity .
-
The board of directors (which includes the officers) will make the decision as to who receives it and for how much. The amount will depend on the available funds.
-
These scholarships will not go to benefit organizations themselves or charity fund raising by youth.
-
Checks will be payable in your name to the organization that you are involved in or the school that you will be attending.
-
Applicants will be notified by mail or phone and if the request is denied, there will be a written explanation.
What the Judges Are Looking For
-
They will be looking for a complete application and such things as your character, your involvement in community activities, worthiness of the activity itself, and if you have received scholarships before.
-
They would also like to know how you think this scholarship will help you.
-
Remember this is not based on income. It is intended to help any family. So give us a chance to help you with your finances. We want you to get involved so you can experience and learn from these various activities and secondary ecducation opportunities..
